Grownups should know better than attempt to side with the drama of an 18-year-old. Certain important points are almost always left out.
Self-admitted "liberal" high school student Emma Sullivan went with her class to the Kansas state house and heard a brief presentation by Governor Sam Brownback. After the outing, Emma posted the following Tweet:
"Just made mean comments at gov. brownback and told him he sucked, in person #heblowsalot"
And later, as if to prove she's some deep thinker, Emma Tweets Gandhi.
However, no where in any news reports does it cooberate Emma's story that she expressed her feelings to the Governor personally as she implied in her Tweet. If she had, chances are a response would have come from the governor's office long before she could add her version of events to the Internet.
Liberals around the nation have rallied to young Emma's defense calling this a "free speech" issue, that is if you consider the sad fact that a possible lie is considered free speech.
What's sad is the fact that a teenager has become an almost instant celebrity for insulting an adult (let alone her state governor), refuses to apologize, and that her account may be an embellishment.
