JORGE RAMOS, UNIVISION/FUSION ANCHOR: There are days when fear wins. That happened last Thursday when voters in Great Britain decided to leave the European union and when the Supreme court, in a split-vote on immigration, decided not to decide. millions of British voters were afraid of the new waves of immigration coming from Syria, Libya, and Africa and decided to close the door. That's exactly the same thing that Trump supporters have been saying here about Mexican immigrants and Muslims. but fear is a bad advisor. I don't exactly (know) what the British are going to do. But I do know what many Latinos are going to do here. Go to congress? Of course not. Nothing happens in congress lately. If the killing of 49 people in Orlando didn't move congress to approve new gun laws, just imagine what would happen with immigration reform. So that leaves us with the election next November the 8th. For every undocumented immigrant here, there is at least one Latino voter. We are expecting about 13 million Hispanic voters, more than enough to decide a very close election. So the defeat at the Supreme court could be transformed into millions of new voters demanding real change. There's really nothing to celebrate when the law says that it is OK to separate thousands of parents from their children. In November, we will know who the real loser is.

Así pasó el pasado jueves cuando los votantes en Gran Bretaña decidieron abandonar a la Unión Europea, y en el Tribunal Supremo, con un voto empatado en el caso de inmigración, se decidieron a no decidir. Millones de votantes británicos sintieron temor de la nueva ola de inmigrantes provenientes de Siria, Libia, y Africa, y decidieron cerrar la puerta. Eso es exactamente lo mismo que han dicho aquí los simpatizantes de Trump sobre los inmigrantes Mexicanos y los musulmanes. Pero el temor es mal asesor. No (sé) precisamente lo que vayan a hacer los británicos. Pero sí sé lo que van a hacer muchos latinos aquí. ¿Ir al Congreso? Por supuesto que no. Nada ocurre en el Congreso recientemente. Si la masacre de 49 personas en Orlando no movió al Congreso a aprobar nuevas leyes (contra el uso) de armas, entonces imaginen lo que ocurrirá con la reforma inmigratoria. Así que eso nos deja con la elección este 8 de noviembre. Por cada inmigrante indocumentado aquí, hay al menos un votante latino. Esperamos como 13 millones de votantes hispanos, más que suficientes como para decidir una elección cerradísima. Para que la derrota en el Tribunal Supremo se pueda transformar en millones de votantes que exigan un cambio verdadero. Realmente no hay nada que celebrar cuando la ley dice que se puede separar a miles de padres de sus hijos. En noviembre, sabemos quién es el verdadero perdedor.
