Atheists have often used the argument that people believe in God for psychological reasons... it makes them feel more secure etc. Professor Paul C. Vitz of NYU sets forth a powerful counter-argument showing that the most famous atheists had dysfunctional or problematic relationships with their fathers causing them to reject them and consequently God. He concludes by saying that people should examine the facts of an argument and not resort to psychological arguments. (Posted by Religio-Political Talk)
