The “Big Three” networks seem to have made it a habit to ignore acts of intimidation against US forces by the country’s adversaries. On Wednesday CBS and NBC completely passed over the buzzing of a US Navy P-8A Poseidon by a Russian SU-27, which occurred that same day. “A U.S. Navy reconnaissance plane was flying an international air space over the Black Sea when the Russian jet came within 10 feet,” reported ABC anchor, David Muir on World News Tonight.

According to CNN the situation was considered an "unsafe close-range intercept" by US Officials. “Pentagon spokesman Jeff Davis said the potentially dangerous incident, involving a Russian SU-27 jet and a US Navy P-8A Poseidon plane, lasted 19 minutes,” wrote CNN. They also noted that, “Tensions have been ratcheted up in the Black Sea recently as Russia began five days of military exercises Monday involving 12,500 personnel and its Black Sea fleet based in Crimea.”

A recent instance of the liberal networks ignoring acts of harassment against US forces occurred just a day prior to the Russian buzzing. ABC, CBS, and NBC all ignored a case of Iranian fast boats maneuvering about the USS Firebolt, with one stopping directly in front of it. In late August, they all skipped over another incident involving Iran that required the USS Squall to fire warning shots at an approaching ship.

Even though ABC did report this incident, they too have a history of ignoring Russian aggression. Back in April, ABC and CBS didn’t report a “dangerously-close encounter” in the skies above the Baltic Sea between US and Russian aircraft.

In addition, both Spanish-language networks Univision and Telemundo also ignored Russia’s latest aggression towards the US.
