Yet another hire by President-Elect Donald Trump is drawing the ire of the liberal media, Tuesday evening. “Well, another one of those hires is a well-known critic of climate science who does not believe that fossil fuels are warming the planet,” announced an irritated sounding Scott Pelley on CBS Evening News, “His assignment-- staffing the environment protection agency.”
The man in question is Myron Ebell, who is described by The Washington Post as, “a “Washington fixture who has long been a cheerful warrior against what he sees as an alarmist, overzealous environmental movement that has used global warming as a pretext for expanding government.” Ebell is known for his work as the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Director of Global Warming and International Environmental Policy.
“Ebell, who is not a scientist, disagrees with the overwhelming majority of the climate scientists who say the driving force behind the warming planet is the burning of fossil fuels,” reported a very snarky Chip Reid.
Reid also noted that, “[Ebell] also wants to repeal president Obama's Clean Power Plan, regulations intended to turn the nation away from coal and toward wind and solar power.” But Reid failed to mention that the Clean Power Plan was responsible for the skyrocketing prices for electricity around the country, because of the shutting down of many coal fire power plants. And that’s in addition to the loss of thousands of jobs in the coal industry.
CBS even dragged out climate reporter Bob Deans to ring the climate alarmist bells, claiming, “Three feet of sea level rise and Miami is Venice, New Orleans is gone the everglades are under water. And three feet of global sea level rise is at the lower end of what scientists expect by the end of this century.”
To cap off his report Reid shared what many climate alarmists fear from a President Trump:
World leaders are now meeting in Morocco to discuss enforcement of the Paris Accords, and there is deep concern that if Mr. Trump does not abide by the agreement, other world leaders might decide to do the same. And Scott today the king of Morocco said, “What's at stake is the very existence of man."
Again, Reid omitted a crucial detail from his already heavily biased report. According to an e-mail released by WikiLeaks, the King of Morocco donated $12 million to the Clinton Foundation, just before Hillary Clinton announced she was running for president. The donation was in exchange for a private meeting with the former secretary of state.
