House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) pushed back hard Thursday against the notion that congressional leaders should release their tax returns after she urged Mitt Romney to release his tax returns.

“In terms of tax returns, maybe they should all be made public. Maybe it should be a public function what do you think of that--for everybody that writes about it, or everybody who hires people who write about it, for corporate ownership of the media and what are they doing as far as taxes are concerned. "

A report found that only a tiny percentage of congressional lawmakers were willing to apply the same standard to themselves.
