Rep. Lamar Smith: DOJ used highly partisan group to help with Voter-ID lawsuit against Texas


<p>The Department of Justice used a firm that works for President Obama's reelection campaign to provide research on whether Texas's Voter ID Law would prejudice the rights of minorities in Texas.&nbsp;</p><p>This firm, called Catalist, serves clients such as the Democratic House and Senate Campaign Committees, Emily's List, Planned Parenthood, and Obama For America. The firm's mission is as follows: "to provide progressive organizations with the data and services needed to better identify, understand, and communicate with the people they need to persuade and mobilize."&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Rep.
