Well known conservative blogger Patterico was subjected to a form of extreme harasment known as "SWATing" in which a fake report of a murder is given to the police by someone claiming to be the target of the harassment. The goal is to have a swat team sent to the victim's house, with guns drawn, under the assumption that the victim has committed a horrible crime.
