“This changes everything.”

Those were some of the lyrics used by Socialist activist folksinger Ben Grosscup at the May Day rally/strike/protest/march in Washington D.C. on Monday.

Socialists, Communists and anarchists (Antifa) convened at Meridian Hill Park (aka Malcolm X Park) to voice their anti-capitalist/anti-American rhetoric to a crowd of 100-200 people who were in lock-step with the message being conveyed.

“Yes, the Russian revolution was the greatest accomplishment of the 20th century,” said Progressive Labor Party member Mike Golash, “but it made a lot of mistakes.”

You could say that any country that’s been run by Socialists and Communists in the history of mankind “made a lot of mistakes." Namely the fact they were run with a Socialist or Communist ideology.

“When we get revolutionary Socialists elected to office,” Socialist Alternative’s Comrade Sarko said, “we change the face of politics.”

Notice that she didn’t say that the change she was talking about would necessarily be for the better. And yes, they all called each other "comrades" at the event. How profoundly Communist of them.

I’m guessing all of you want to hear something said by these activists with a little more shock value. Ready?

“Sex work needs to be decriminalized,” said transgender activist Sharice Monet of HIPS (Helping Individual Prostitutes Survive). “When sex workers have more freedom to choose how they want to work, it will improve the health and agency of sex workers.”

Sounds like something you might hear in Thailand. Instead, you’re hearing it on the doorstep of the nation’s capital.

Perhaps the most inflammatory statement made by anyone at the event came from another part of the oh-so-intellectual speech by radical Communist Golash where he talked about capitalism.

“I have spent my entire adult life fighting this system [capitalism],” Golash proclaimed with pride. “One lesson I’ve learned from that experience is this system cannot be reformed. It must be destroyed.”

There is a growing epidemic in this country, and it’s name is the radical Left.

The term “May Day” was bogarted by Socialists and Communists in 1886 (officially in 1889), ironically, just a few years after the death of their father, Karl Marx.

What I witnessed Monday was the look of severe hatred. Hatred for a country that allows them to spew whatever propaganda their supporting this week. Hatred towards anyone that doesn’t subscribe to their radical ideology. Hatred towards the country they live in.

When events like this happen, people need to be aware of the dangerous rhetoric being spewed all across these United States.

This does indeed change everything.
