The district attorney’s office in Orange County, Calif., has brought a lawsuit against tissue procurement companies DV Biologics and DaVinci Biosciences, alleging the groups illegally profited from the sale fetal tissue procured from Planned Parenthood abortion facilities.

The lawsuit, filed just days before Planned Parenthood celebrates its 100th anniversary, also instructs the companies to immediately stop selling fetal tissue and cells and reimburse researchers who say they overpaid for previously delivered specimens.

According to the LA Times:

The suit alleges that the companies obtained aborted fetuses from Planned Parenthood and sold tissues and stem cells from the fetal parts, earning hundreds of thousands in revenue from their sale from 2009 to 2015.

The company is defending their practices, of course, claiming they haven’t done anything wrong and blaming any signs of high profits on “accounting issues.”

It’s against federal law to profit from the selling of human tissue, but the law does allow a company to recoup reasonable administrative costs associated with processing and shipping the specimens. However, the LA Times reported the two companies allegedly charged as much as $700 for tissue that cost only $20 to process.

Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas added the company often set their prices arbitrarily, including offering discounts for bulk orders and “25% off “summer sales.”

The issue of fetal tissue sale, particularly that harvested from aborted children, first burst onto the public stage in 2014, when the pro-life Center for Medial Progress released a series of undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood officials and abortion workers haggling over the price of organs from aborted babies. CMP’s founder, David Daleiden, was later indicted for tampering with government records by creating the false I.D. that he used to gain access to a number of events and clinics in his videos. A judge threw out those charges last summer, even as Planned Parenthood continued to accuse Daleiden and his group of falsely claiming the abortion provider had participated in the illegal sale of fetal tissue.

But as the recently announced lawsuit suggests, the Center for Medical Progress may not have been as far off base as Planned Parenthood would have Americans believe. The group issued a statement on the allegations against the California tissue companies, condemning the illegal sale of fetal body parts while also accusing Planned Parenthood, the companies’ primary supplier of aborted babies, of playing a direct role in the scheme:

For eight years, Planned Parenthood supplied aborted baby hearts, lungs, brains, and intestines to DV Biologics, which DV Biologics then resold for profit. In exchange for merely providing access to aborted baby body parts, Planned Parenthood received kickback contributions from DaVinci Biosciences over the course of their eight-year contract.

The wheels of justice are beginning to turn against Planned Parenthood and their corrupt business partners in the illicit trade in aborted baby body parts. Planned Parenthood is not above the law, and law enforcement and elected representatives everywhere must now hold Planned Parenthood accountable for their barbaric profiteering off of pregnant women and the body parts of their aborted children.
