In yet another example of "the most peaceful religion on Earth," a Muslim man brandishing a knife somewhat successfully attempted to attack Spanish police officers close to the Spanish-Moroccan border on Tuesday.

The radical Muslim yelled out “Allahu Akbar” and went after a Spanish police officer with the knife, cutting the officer on the finger. The man was stopped after one officer threw a plastic lane divider, hitting the man and knocking him down.

According to Fox News:

The man, who appeared to be Moroccan, carried out the apparent terror attack about 7:35 a.m. local time at the Beni Enzar access to the Spanish enclave of Melilla, a spokeswoman with the local office of the Interior Ministry said. Hundreds of people were gathered in the area -- the frontier between Spain and Morocco -- to cross the border.

Morocco’s population is 99 percent Muslim, according to CIA data, so these attacks at the Spanish-Moroccan border seem to be isolated incidents. Morocco, much like many European countries today, saw a very similar influx of migrants and refugees in the 1990s.

The CIA reported:

In the mid-1990s, Morocco developed into a transit country for asylum seekers from sub-Saharan Africa and illegal labor migrants from sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia trying to reach Europe via southern Spain, Spain’s Canary Islands, or Spain’s North African enclaves, Ceuta and Melilla.

According to authorities, the man was arrested and questioned by police.
