Climate change alarmists always like to say that “the science is settled” when it comes to their cause, but when the time comes for a real, substantive debate with someone on the merits of climate change, they run and hide.

Hopefully, they’re not leaving too big of a “carbon footprint” while running away.

CEO of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation, Terry Tamminen, pulled out of a climate change debate with author and founder of the Center for Industrial Progress, Alex Epstein.

“He gave no explanation to the organizers and certainly did not give me the courtesy of an apology--even though my team has been preparing for this event for weeks,” Epstein wrote in a Facebook post.

The Daily Caller reported:

The Collision Conference scheduled the debate between Epstein and Tamminen earlier this year. The two were to face off over the central question of whether or not humanity can abandon the use of fossil fuels.

Let’s say, hypothetically, that it was feasible for humanity to move away from fossil fuels. So many things are dependent of such fuels that it would take at least one lifetime before we fossil fuels could be completely phased out. Even researchers at MIT and the University of Chicago have said that “without dramatic breakthroughs, widespread power generation from solar photovoltaics and wind will remain more expensive than using fossil fuels.”

With so many climate change alarmists constantly predicting the end of the world, sooner than later, if we don’t change our ways, it’s both foolish and irresponsible to think that the world could abandon fossil fuels within a few years.

Epstein had no problem pulling out the punk card on Tamminen when it came to his departure from the debate.

“On its face, it’s another prominent person who runs their mouth of fossil fuels in the media, but won’t face someone who will challenge them,” Epstein commented.

Epstein is the author of the book, “The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels,” which has been overwhelmingly acclaimed critics, according to his Facebook post.

Here’s Epstein’s post:

According to the Daily Caller, former Democratic Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter will replace Tamminen for the scheduled debate in May.

Bill Nye “The Denier of Science Guy” loves to debate people when it comes to climate change, but he’d probably get taken to the woodshed by Epstein considering Nye has been proven to be “out-to-lunch” judging by his most recent venture on Netflix.
