U.S. Coast Guard crews located and repatriated 102 migrants on Wednesday.
The Cutter Mohawk crew found the Haitian migrants at sea Tuesday almost 22 miles south of the Bahamas.
According to the Coast Guard, this is the largest interdiction in more than a year.

Officials said the migrants received food, water, shelter and medical attention while aboard Coast Guard cutters before being repatriated to Cap-Haitien, Haiti.
Officials claim approximately 1,028 Haitian migrants have attempted to illegally migrate to the U.S. since Oct. 1, compared to 1,872 Haitian migrants in 2016.
“The Caribbean and Florida Straits are dangerous and unforgiving for migrants on illegal and ill-advised voyages in overloaded vessels,” said Capt. Jason Ryan, chief of response for the Seventh Coast Guard District.
