CNN Slams Trump For Deporting Criminal Aliens

When the mainstream media publishes a woeful tale of forced deportation, they unswervingly stick to one foolproof formula. And it goes something like this.

Step one: introduce the reader to a poor illegal alien using a catchy and emotional lead-in sentence.

Step two: Describe how the big bad American government is oppressing said poor illegal alien, while glossing over any potential negatives regarding him/her/[insert-gender-neutral-pronoun here].

Step three: Provide statistics detailing how said poor illegal alien is part of a larger group of poor illegal aliens who are all being oppressed by said big bad American government.

Step four: Circle back to said poor illegal alien by tying in a tragic conclusion.

Here’s a good example: CNN’s recent story on 21-year-old Eduardo Hernandez, who was just sent back to Mexico after first arriving in America unlawfully at the age of 8. Hernandez’s tragic story of being forcibly separated from his (presumably also illegally-present) family in America, CNN complains, gives “a window into who the United States is kicking out” under President Donald Trump’s harsh immigration policies.

Buried deep within CNN’s heart-rending account, however, is the following brief mention of why Hernandez found himself taking a one-way trip on a south-bound plane (emphasis mine):

Before his return to Mexico, Hernandez had several run-ins with the law, including multiple traffic violations and a felony conviction for fleeing and eluding a police officer in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

Hernandez illegally entered the United States in 2003 and was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement after his conviction on the felony charge, ICE said in a statement.

According to his lawyer, Hernandez pleaded guilty after a 2014 incident when he was racing in the streets with friends and sped past a police officer. Afraid of admitting his immigration status to the officer, he fled the scene before he got caught, attorney Marc Christopher said.

CNN follows this shockingly skewed tale with another – this time, regarding 26-year old David Padilla, also recently deported back to Mexico. In between doling out sad details (Padilla has kids, don’t ya know), CNN explains:

Padilla has two misdemeanor DUI convictions and a number of traffic offenses on his record, according to court documents. In 2008, he was sentenced to 30 days of jail time for shoplifting.

Padilla blames Trump for his deportation.

"If I would've been pulled over the day that it happened without Trump being in office," he said, "I think I would've been able to go home."

He chokes up when he looks at photos of his dog and his 1-year-old and 5-year-old daughters on his phone. For him, the separation is the most difficult part.

"It's just so hard. They pull you away," he said. "You can't even say bye to anybody."

CNN follows this up with one final sob story -- this one focusing on a twice-deported Mexican woman who crossed the border illegally four times, has a low-level criminal record, was issued a final order of removal by an immigration judge back during President Obama's term, and who now apparently says she "doesn't understand" why she's being sent back home.

What CNN never once mentions, of course, are the countless American lives that have been lost thanks to traffic accidents caused by illegal aliens – like the Honduran man who killed a 25-year-old college student back in 2010 after running him over twice, only to end up serving six weeks in jail for the crime. Or the one who killed a 66-year-old missionary on his way home from work just two months ago. In fact, some estimates put the number of people killed in the U.S. by illegal alien drivers at between 3,000 and 4,000 per year.

Nor does CNN mention the roughly 167,000 aliens with criminal convictions – ranging from misdemeanor DUIs to felony homicide and rape charges – currently estimated to be loose in the United States.

But rather than being concerned with the victims of illegal alien crime (like this 13-year-old girl, who was recently kidnapped and raped in a hotel room by a 29-year-old illegal alien) CNN decries the deportation of illegal aliens with criminal convictions as somehow inhumane, criticizing Trump for sending offenders home before they can hurt or kill someone here.

For a media so distraught over refugees fleeing death and violence in the Middle East, you’d think the pile of bodies already accrued in this country thanks to illegal aliens would be enough.

Apparently not.
