Though most discernible news consumers probably gave up long ago, that old adage, “Where there’s life, there’s hope,” might have inspired a few to watch MSNBC February 7 in the hope that, given one more chance, the chatterboxes at the network might engage in attempts at fair journalism, rather than continue their long history of collectivist propaganda. As one might guess, if they tuned-…

Filmgoers might associate the name Michael Mann with a long list of dramatic motion pictures and television shows, going all the way back to the remarkable 1979 TV movie, “The Jericho Mile.” On the other hand, fans of the long-operative “climate change” drama might be familiar with the same name because it also belongs to a spectacularly incendiary climate theorist who, depending on one’s…

Jacob Sullum reports for Reason that the ATF is ready to act on a year-old Biden “Executive Order,” and you can bet it’s another power-grab against your rights. Sullum notes: “Nearly a year ago, President Joe Biden issued an executive order aimed at ‘increasing the number of background checks conducted before firearm sales, moving the U.S. as close to universal background checks as possible…

Political collectivist ideology repeatedly and perennially reveals its internally contradictory nature. Its proponents use coercion and threats to purportedly “help” the weak and vulnerable. Its proponents claim to represent the interests and the “cares” of “the people” by negating each person’s ability to show that for which he or she cares and to what degree. Its proponents centrally…

In 1992, Al Gore made himself the target of well-deserved mockery when he told a crowd that, economically, “everything that ought to be down is up, everything that should be up is down!” He continues to offer shady claims, now, mostly about the climate. But Gore isn’t alone in manufacturing a false message for political consumption. On the whole, the US government does this virtually…

It's understandable, if you, like many, feel confused by their double-standard. After decrying what they claim were historic “colonizers” who wielded power to dominate and exploit politically weak or “underrepresented” groups, two prominent Democrats are weighing-in on the Texas v. DC border battle. They are calling for Joe Biden’s central government to “federalize” the states’ National Guard…

Sometimes, people leave it all behind. But sometimes, the people involved in the creation of fictitious worlds remain in the spotlight, supporting the fans, supplying energy to the act of storytelling, and bringing attention to real events, real people, and real life that often gets disregarded by folks who might spend a bit too much time enjoying escapism and not dealing with reality.…

The Biden Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is on the verge of banning one of the most important chemicals in the history of mankind. It's methylene chloride, and it's used for everything from electronics to pharmaceuticals. Across its various states, it's an extraction solvent in food and beverage manufacturing, is used in processing spices and de-caffeinating beverages and making…

Whether the cause is limitless hubris or some innate inability to check their perverse, authoritarian excitement, politicians and bureaucrats sometimes let slip their black-as-midnight plans to attack our liberty and hurt us. In 2019, Joe Biden did precisely that when he openly stated he would “end fossil fuel.” And, using the softer-but-meaning-the-same-thing term “phase-out”, he…

The battle between the feds and the government of Texas (and, now, numerous members of the TX National Guard, as well as many so-called “Red State” governments that are pledging to join Texas Governor Greg Abbott) is the biggest constitutional conflict since most of us were born. It is not a “standoff.” It is active, dynamic, kinetic, and already has seen the governors of Georgia, Montana,…
