This new technology will have ISIS fighters shaking in their boots.

According to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the U.S. military has successfully conducted live-fire tests of a .50-caliber sniper round that can change direction mid-air in response to a target’s movements.

The U.S. Department of Defense division released the video above featuring the first-ever guided small caliber bullets of the Extreme Accuracy Tasked Ordnance (EXACTO) program.

The program explains,

"EXACTO’s specially designed ammunition and real-time optical guidance system help track and direct projectiles to their targets by compensating for weather, wind, target movement and other factors that could impede successful hits."

According to DARPA, enhancing current technology would enable military snipers to acquire targets faster and with more accuracy despite unfavorable conditions such as high winds and dusty terrain commonly found throughout the Middle East.
