A video of a little girl running toward her father during an Army homecoming ceremony has gone viral, touching the hearts of many.

Cara Oglesby couldn’t wait until the end of the ceremony at Fort Carson, Colorado on Tuesday to give her dad a big hug and welcome home.

“Cara, she made eye contact with me in the crowd and decided she wanted to say hello a little early," father Lt. Daniel Oglesby told FOX 21 News, "so she ran up and gave me a big hug and I just returned the hug back to her.”

“I was trying to decide whether or not it was good practice to break formation," Lt. Oglesby said, "but I didn’t have the heart in me to not give my little baby a hug..."

It had been a long while since Cara's dad was last home, having just returned from a nine-month deployment with the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division in southwest Asia.

KKTV 11 News captured the beautiful moment. Check out the heartwarming video below.
