The ability to hear family members, loved ones, and the world around us is a gift we almost all take for granted. It's a sense as powerful as sight and as delicate as taste.
Which is why it is such a powerful experience for a person dealing with hearing loss to be able to get implants and be able to hear.
We found this video of a baby named Lachlan who had hearing loss in both ears and was given his first hearing aid. It's priceless.

Our beautiful son Lachlan was diagnosed as having moderate to severe hearing loss in both ears. When he was 7 weeks old he received his first hearing aids. His reaction when they were turned on was truly amazing. We cried from happiness.
Soon after Lachlan received his hearing aids, we linked into the Early Intervention Service, Tarayle, the oral language centre for deaf children.
Our beautiful little boy is now two years old and doing remarkably well.
