Young people drive pop culture in this country. But as I found out, many of them are woefully ignorant when it comes to musicians who laid the groundwork for today's modern pop stars.
Keep in mind that the musicians that I asked about were--at least at one point--some of the most famous people on the face of the Earth. So, for many of you this is going to be a shocking and depressing thing to observe. For that I apologize.
