'Vicar of Baghdad': U.S. Intervention a Total Waste - 'Worse Now Than Under Saddam'

"The terrible thing that the Americans have to realize is that all the intervention, everything they tried to do has been totally wasted," said Canon Andrew White, the "Vicar of Baghdad," choking back tears. "Nothing has been achieved."

 

 

White is the Anglican pastor of St. George's Church in Baghdad. Conditions in the country have deteriorated so badly that White's church forbids him from returning to Iraq. "It's worse now than under Saddam (Hussein)," he says.
