Halloween is supposed to be scary.  Well, here's something that will give you nightmares. Introducing the "Trumpkin." An Illinois man who has been painting faces on pumpkins for 22 years has decided take his artwork into the political realm.

The first political gourd portrait that John Kettman of La Salle, Illinois decided to paint was that of Donald Trump. Fully equipped with a golden wig, and Trump's signature scowl, his masterpiece is dubbed the "Trumpkin." Pictures of his pumpkin art quickly went viral online.

Given his initial success, he decided to try his hand at portraying other candidates on his Halloween decorations. In the wake of "Trumpkin's" popularity, Kettman painted pumpkins in the likenesses of Hillary Clinton and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Kettman says he's planning to paint more pumpkin candidates as the presidential race continues.

There's only one problem with pumpkin art.  It doesn't last.

Pumpkins go bad after a while, turning into a brown, maggot-infested mush that often sits on a neglected porch long after Halloween season has ended. But, don't fret. Kettman has a solution. From now on, Kettman will be using foam pumpkins for his portraits, ensuring that his work will last throughout the ages to be admired by art lovers for centuries to come.
