Viral Video Shows Thugs Beating a Trump Supporter in Chicago

A graphic video surfaced Thursday morning of a group of young men beating a Trump supporter in Chicago.

In the cell phone camera footage, voices can be heard yelling, “You voted Trump! You voted Trump! Beat his ass! Don’t vote Trump!” as the old man is kicked and punched in the streets outside of his car. By the end of the video, one of the thugs gets in the man’s car and drives off as the man is dragged along.

While it's not clear from the footage what transpired just before the incident to spark such inexplicable violence, this is just the latest symptom of the many protests sparked throughout the country following Trump’s victory Tuesday night.

Update: The Chicago Tribune reports the victim's name is David Wilcox. Although he voted for Trump, he says no one would have known and that's not what caused the incident. He says his car was scraped by a black sedan, and when he got out to ask if they had insurance -- they started beating him.

"I stopped and parked. And I asked if they had insurance, and the next thing that I knew they were beating the s--- out of me," Wilcox said Thursday.

A longer version, dubbed with profanity-laden music, shows Wilcox hanging on to the door frame of his car as it is being driven away by one of the assailants.

"They were beating me to have me let go of the car," Wilcox said. "The guy went to 70 and 80 mph. If I let go, I was dead. He slowed to 45. … He tried to push the door open. …So he stepped on it again.

"He stepped up back to 70 and 80, swerved again," Wilcox said. "The wheels on my side left the ground, up to 2 inches. … Then he slowed down. I was looking at oncoming traffic. He probably slowed to about 45. God was watching over for me. I rolled about five or seven times into the oncoming traffic lanes.

A police report was filled out but no one has been taken into custody. Chief police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says they're taking this "very seriously."

Wilcox was reportedly taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition.
