Presidential candidate Donald Trump has proclaimed that he will stop eating Oreo cookies due to the companies recent decision to move jobs in the plant that makes the cookies from Illinois to Mexico.

"I'm never eating Oreos again," Trump said.  However, he also added that if he could find another brand of cookies similar to Oreos, he would consider eating those.

Seriously, I'm not making this up, people.

While Oreo's parent company, Mondelez International Inc., will keep their Chicago plant open, they have decided to invest $130 million in four new production lines in Mexico in an effort to slash costs and improve productivity. The move comes after negotiations with labor unions and is expected to save the company $46 million.

The Chicago plant will cut its work force in half from 1,200 employees to 600. The company also has plants that make the cookie in Virginia, New Jersey and Oregon.

Trump has made the relationship between the U.S. and its southern neighbor a central part of his presidential campaign.

Interestingly, Trump appeared in a commercial for Oreos in 2010 along with Payton and Eli Manning.
