Donald Trump took to Twitter on Thursday to slam his former rival Texas Sen. Ted Cruz for perpetuating a sense of division within the Republican Party.

“Other than a small group of people who have suffered massive and embarrassing losses, the party is VERY united,” he wrote, referring to Cruz's refusal to endorse Trump despite a pledge each candidate made to support the eventual nominee.

“Ted Cruz talks about the Constitution but doesn’t say that if the Dems win the presidency, the new JUSTICES appointed will destroy us all!” Trump also tweeted.

Sen. Cruz was booed off stage at the Republican National Convention Wednesday night.

Instead of expressing his support for the party's nominee, he told America to “vote your conscience.”

Cruz defended his controversial speech in a press conference on Thursday, saying, “I am not in the habit of supporting people who attack my wife and attack my father."
