In exchange for his donations, Hillary Clinton attended his wedding, Donald Trump declared during a “money talks” tirade against our “broken system” during last night’s GOP Presidential Debate.

Trump said he’d given money to many of the debate participants – and gotten what he wanted out of them:

“I will tell you that our system is broken. I gave to many people, before this, before two months ago, I was a businessman. I give to everybody. When they call, I give. And do you know what? When I need something from them two years later, three years later, I call them, they are there for me.”

When asked what he got in exchange for his contributions to Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Trump answered that he was able to force Clinton to attend his wedding:

Question:What did you get from Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi?

Trump: “Well, I’ll tell you what, with Hillary Clinton, I said, ‘Be at my wedding’ and she came to my wedding. “You know why? She didn’t have a choice because I gave.

“I gave to a foundation that, frankly, that foundation is supposed to do good. I didn’t know her money would be used on private jets going all over the world. It was.”

Trump has given between $100,000 and $250,000 to Clinton’s foundation, according to ClintonFoundation.org. Separately, Trump gave $4,700 to Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, but Clinton returned $4,000 of the money in 2009, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

So, Trump may have given as much as a quarter of a million dollars to Hillary Clinton to get her to attend his nuptials – talk about an expensive wedding.
