UPDATE: Following his meeting with President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday, rapper Kanye West wrote a curious tweet:

"#2024," the tweet reads

Last year at the VMA's, West declared his 2020 presidential bid.

After meeting with the President-elect to discuss "multicultural issues," West tweeted "#2024," suggesting that he would run for president in 2024.

That would be once Trump leaves office, if elected for a second term.

He announced during a concert in San Jose, Calif., mid-November that he supports Trump and would have cast his ballot for the then-Republican presidential nominee if he had voted in this year's election.

ORIGINAL STORY: President-elect Donald Trump met with rap artist Kanye West at Trump Tower in New York City Tuesday morning.

The two spoke posed for pictures in the hotel lobby following their meeting, refusing to disclose any details of their private conversation.

Trump called West a “good man” and told the press that he and the rapper have been “friends for a long time.”

West ignored a question about whether he plans to follow through with a 2020 presidential bid, after announcing at the VMA’s last year his decision to run.

"I just want to take a picture right now," he told reporters.

West requested a 15-minute meeting with the President-elect, Trump transition spokeswoman Hope Hicks told CNN.

The reason for his visit remains unclear.

West was hospitalized last month for "exhaustion" and cancelled the rest of his 2016 tour dates.

He was released from the hospital at the end of November.

The hip-hop mogul is known to make controversial statements.

He shocked fans at his Nov. 17 concert in San Jose, Calif., when we went on a rant about how he hadn't voted in this year's election, but he would have cast his ballot for Mr. Trump.
