The Media Never Thought Trump Could Win -- and They Were WRONG

What no one in the media thought could happen has happened: Donald Trump has been elected President of the United States.

If you remember all the way back when Trump first announced his run, pundits weren’t shy of laughing him off as a joke, as someone who couldn’t possibly win his party’s nomination, let alone the actual presidency.

But Trump constantly proved those in the media wrong, right up until Election Day with his shocking win. Because of this, I thought it would be fun to look back at many of the times those in the media thought they could predict the future -- and failed.

Politico’s so-called ‘Insiders Caucus’ was designed by Politico to be an insider’s look into the wild race, starting even before candidates started announcing they would run. While sometimes giving genuinely interesting commentary, many of the insider’s predictions were wrong:

 

 

 

Many headlines throughout the campaign issued constant assurances that there was simply no way that Trump could win:

 

 

European news agencies got in on the fun every now and then:

 

And one phrase the media apparently really liked to use was predicting “the beginning of the end” for Trump:

 

 

 

 

And in the end, Trump proved all of them wrong. Don't believe the liberal media.
