An officer for the Swedish Migration Board will keep her job after she was exposed as an Islamic terrorism sympathizer.

Samiyah Warsame has “liked” numerous Facebook posts in support of jihad, according to screenshots provided by Ivar Arpi, a journalist for Svenska Dagbladet.

Warsame appears to have “liked” multiple posts of the Islamic State flag. She has also “liked” tributes to Omar Abdel-Rahman, “The Blind Sheikh,” who played a role in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the founder of Hamas.

Another post “liked” by Warsame reads, “Remember the Mujahdieen [sic] in your prayers… Because they are fighting on your behalf.”

A spokesperson for the Swedish Migration Board told Fria Tider Warsame would remain in her position, as Warsame's actions fall under the category of “freedom of opinion and expression” (translated):

“Freedom of opinion and freedom of expression in Sweden's constitutionally protected. An authority must not thwart the employee's right to express opinions or take action that could be perceived as retaliation for having expressed their opinions."

Fria Tider could not receive a response about the nature of Warsame’s employment in the agency that overseas the applications for individuals who wish to live in Sweden. The spokesperson did say, however, Warsame does not work with asylum cases.

In a post on Facebook addressing the controversy (that has since been removed), Warsame allegedly accused Arpi of Islamophobia for his coverage.
