If common sense can trigger a “national state of emergency” from the leftist mob, then conservatives are the proud gods of mischief.

Such was the setting for the Wednesday Senate hearing entitled, “Protecting Pride: Defending the Civil Rights of LGBTQ+ Americans.” The president of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), Kelley Robinson, was invited to speak before Congress after the HRC declared a “homophobia”-induced state of emergency earlier this month.

Immediately following conservative activist Riley Gaines’ testimony before Congress, Senator Ted Cruz asked Robinson perhaps the most controversial question that exists in 2023 America.

“Is there a difference between women and men?” he questioned Robinson.

To which the HRC head clearly had no answer.

But as we all know, liberals don’t appoint people based on skills or basic intellect anymore - just look at Kamala Harris or Karine Jean-Pierre. Likewise, the president of the HRC has clearly joined the Unmerited Diversity Hires Club.

“I mean, what I can say here is the NCAA has rules in place,” said Robinson. “They’ve had rules in place for the last decade, and when this competition–”

“Okay, I’m gonna try again,” said Cruz. “Do you believe there’s a difference between women and men? It’s a yes-no question: do you believe there’s a difference?”

“I think that we’re talking about this case with the NCAA–” said Robinson, dodging the question again.

The fruitless back-and-forth continued, until Cruz asked, “I’m just trying to get a yes or no–I’m not trying to get a speech. Is there a difference between women and men?”

“I think that there are definitions for biological sex, which is different from gender,” replied Robinson.

Clearly, the real national state of emergency here is a stunning and disheartening lack of common sense.
