Jellyfish Lake, in the in the island country of Palau, has a secret that not many know about.

It's a shocker: jellyfish.

While many in the world think of jellyfish as the awful creature that's lurking below the surface of the ocean or bay waiting to sting your unsuspecting legs or torso, the Golden Jellyfish that inhabit Jellyfish Lake are essentially harmless.

According to National Geographic, since the Golden Jellyfish have started calling Jellyfish Lake their home, the species has lost the ability to sting. Tourists have taken the loss of the sting as the perfect opportunity to travel to Palau and record a visually appealing YouTube video.

The jellyfish rely on the daily sun cycle for nourishment, and perform a daily migration to achieve the nourishment needed for survivial, says National Geographic.
