STUDY: What's The Most Romantic City in the Country?

As Valentine's Day approaches, Amazon.com decided to try and figure out which U.S. city is the most romantic. For the study, researchers examined cities with more than 100,000 residents per capita and looked at purchases of romance novels and relationship books, romantic comedy movies, romantic music including artists like Barry White and Luther Vandross, as well as the sales of "sexual wellness products."

While in no way a scientific study, the results may surprise you. Here's the list:

1. Alexandria, Va.
2. Miami, Fla.
3. Knoxville, Tenn.
4. Orlando, Fla.
5. Vancouver, Wash.
6. Cincinnati, Ohio
7. Columbia, S.C.
8. Pittsburgh, Pa.
9. Round Rock, Texas
10. Ann Arbor, Mich.
11. Atlanta, Ga.
12. Salt Lake City, Utah
13. Scottsdale, Ariz.
14. Everett, Wash.
15. Gainesville, Fla.
16. Seattle, Wash.
17. Wilmington, N.C.
18. Rochester, N.Y.
19. Dayton, Ohio
20. Bellevue, Wash.

Interestingly, the Washington D.C. suburb of Alexandria, which topped the list, used to be home to the offices of the Media Research Center. We have since moved to Reston, Va., which does not appear on the list at all.

Perhaps our absence has made Alexandria more romantic, but it could just be a coincidence.
