Nathan Fair is a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. He has served multiple combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has served with the 101st Airborne division, the 82nd Airborne division, the 10th Mountain Division, and is now serving with the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) at FT. Myer, V.A. He wrote this song to honor those men and women who have fought and given everything for this country.

While he has said the song is written for everyone. but he says there is one person, in particular, he thinks of when it comes to this song.

That is Staff Sergeant Eric Shaw, who was killed in Action in 2010 while in Afghanistan. They served together in the 101st Airborne. Nathan performed this song for the first time in a bar contest which was owned by a former Delta member Josh Collins.

The video shows the grave of Sergeant Major Tyson Nick who was working as a contractor in Afghanistan. He was killed in action trying to save a soldier's life. The gravesite shown in the video was chosen because Collins was a good friend of Sgt. Maj. Nick’s.  Half of every purchase of his song off of iTunes goes to Wounded Wear, a non-profit that helps combat-wounded veterans.
