The Senate judiciary committee on Friday sent a letter to former Attorney General Loretta Lynch asking her to disclose any communications she had with Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee regarding the FBI’s probe into the former secretary of state’s emails.

“The committee asked Lynch about any conversations she had with Clinton staffer Amanda Renteria or former DNC Chairwoman Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz about the email investigation,” reports CNN.

“The panel also asked for Renteria and Leonard Benardo and Gail Scovell of the Open Society Foundations to disclose about their conversations with the FBI and Lynch over the Clinton investigation. The Washington Post reported last month there was a document claiming that Schultz sent a letter to Bernado claiming Lynch had been in private communication with Renteria about the investigation claiming the she would not let the FBI investigation go too far.”

The committee also sent a letter asking Lynch to detail the depths of her involvement in the FBI's investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server, The Washington Times reports.

"Sen. Charles E. Grassley, chairman of the committee, said the investigation is bipartisan," writes The Washington Times. "The letter to Ms. Lynch is signed by ranking Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein and also by Sens. Lindsey Graham and Sheldon Whitehouse, the chairman and ranking member of the key investigative subcommittee."

The request for information comes after former FBI Director James Comey’s bombshell testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee that Lynch had asked him to downplay the Bureau’s investigation into Clinton’s emails.

Comey during the hearing said that Lynch had once directed him to call the probe not an investigation, but a “matter,” and that the direction had “concerned” him.

The former FBI director said his decision to reopen the Bureau’s probe into Clinton's emails just days ahead of the election was influenced by that direction as well as Lynch’s shady tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton.
