A London-based Saudi Arabian newspaper Al-Hayat ran an article last Thursday claiming the United States was responsible for the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and United 93.
This comes after the U.S. Senate passed a bi-partisan bill allowing 9/11 victims' families to sue the Saudi government. The Obama administration has threatened to veto the bill.
The author of the article was Saudi legal expert Katib al-Shammari, who wrote that the U.S. government carried out 9/11 as a way to introduce a war on terror.
According to the article which was translated to English from Arabic:
Those who follow American policy see that it is built upon the principle of advance planning and future probabilities. This is because it occasionally presents a certain topic to a country that it does not wish [to bring up] at that time but [that it is] reserving in its archives as an ace to play [at a later date] in order to pressure that country.
Basically what al-Shammari is saying is that America forgives, but they never forget. While that statement is true, why would the U.S. government destroy the financial center of its own country? And why would we hold out on actions against the Saudis until now?
The fact that our government had knowledge of the Saudis involvement on 9/11 and didn’t act on the information until almost 15 years later does seem a little peculiar. Could it be that the U.S. is less dependent on foreign oil than it once was? After all, a report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration did just reveal that the U.S. dependence on foreign oil is at its lowest point since 1970.
Anyway, Al-Shammari continued:
September 11 is one of winning cards in the American archives, because all the wise people in the world who are experts on American policy and who analyze the images and the videos [of 9/11] agree unanimously that what happened in the [Twin] Towers was a purely American action, planned and carried out within the U.S. Proof of this is the sequence of continuous explosions that dramatically ripped through both buildings... Expert structural engineers demolished them with explosives, while the planes crashing [into them] only gave the green light for the detonation – they were not the reason for the collapse. But the U.S. still spreads blame in all directions. [This policy] can be dubbed 'victory by means of archives.'
There have been many conspiracy theories over the years as to how the World Trade Center's towers collapsed -- which have been widely debunked -- and apparently, al-Shammari watched a ton of them. Alex Jones would be so proud.
The Daily Beast reported on May 12 of this year that U.S. District Court Judge William Zloch is trying to determine what information can be declassified among 80,000 pages of classified government documents relating to the 9/11 attacks. The documents are said to possibly include more information on the Saudis possible involvement in the 9/11 attacks.
Are the Saudis trying to expose the U.S. for their actions, or are they worried that the documents could pose a serious threat to their own national security?
