Reagan's Son Tells Trump What His Father Would Really Think of Him

The son of former President Ronald Reagan isn't too happy that GOP Presidential frontrunner Donald Trump is comparing himself to his beloved father.

In August, Trump went on NBC's "Meet the Press" and compared himself to the former President. He told reporter Chuck Todd that his own evolution from liberal to conservative was akin to Reagan's shift from a liberal Hollywood actor to a conservative politician. During the interview Trump likened his views on abortion to Reagan's and claimed Reagan "liked" him, at the time he was a sitting president.

These comments didn't sit well with Michael Reagan, radio talk show host and son of the former president. Reagan told Newsmax that his father would've been "appalled" at Trump's behavior and comparisons.

“What he’s done is really appalling,” Reagan said. “My father would be appalled. … On behalf of my father and the Reagan family to see someone like this who just personally attacks people time and time and time again is absolutely appalling to me and I hope all the voters start to see through Donald Trump and the kind of candidate that he his and the kind of president he may end up being.”

Reagan is referring to Trump's recent petty insults hurled against fellow GOP Presidential candidates Dr. Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina among others.

Reagan tweeted that voters needed to decide on which side they stand. Reagan or Trump? He claimed that Republicans couldn't support both at the same time.
