Paris Mayor Plans to Sue Fox News Over Inaccurate Statements

Brad Fox | January 20, 2015

Fox News has apologized several times on air about the soon to be famous interview with Steven Emerson and Jeanine Pirro.

Mr. Emerson claimed there are "no-go zones" particularly in England and France where it is basically another country within the country. He said on France's official website it says there are "no-go zones." I explain how that could be a misunderstanding further down.

A report from the Gatestone Institute International Policy Council apparently agrees with Mr. Emerson's statement.

"The problem of no-go zones is well documented, but multiculturalists and their politically correct supporters vehemently deny that they exist. Some are now engaged in a concerted campaign to discredit and even silence those who draw attention to the issue."

Later in their report they quote  French Islamic Scholar who said the following:

Fabrice Balanche, a well-known French Islam scholar who teaches at the University of Lyon, recently told Radio Télévision Suisse: "You have territories in France such as Roubaix, such as northern Marseille, where police will not step foot, where the authority of state is completely absent, where mini Islamic states have been formed."

The report mentions the Fox News apologies and says, had the analyst Mr. Emerson said, "parts" of Birmingham have no-go zones instead of the entire city, he would have been correct.

"The Prime Minister said he choked on his porridge after hearing the claim by Steve Emerson, a Fox News pundit, that non-Muslims "simply don't go" to Britain's second-largest city." reports Snopes.

The Gatestone article links to documentaries made from multiple French filmmakers and even Russian Filmmakers documenting no-go zones in France and much more.

Mr. Emerson's twitter fight with the French ambassador was partly over the claim that there are over 700 zones in France designated as sensitive urban zones (Zones Urbaines Sensibles, ZUS) which some have taken to mean that all of those 700+ areas have high Muslim density, it appears that is false, however, there are those that apparently do.

CBN World News reported last year that the current president of France received 93% of the Muslim vote, and current Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo was one of the only fellow Socialists to win in last years elections.

Bobby Jindahl recently weighed in and said:

"Some countries have allowed Muslims to establish autonomous neighborhoods in cities where they govern by a harsh version of Islamic law."

Governor Jindahl also said in a speech at the British Think Tank (The Henry Jackson Society), that he was not able to come up with verifiable proof of these zones because most of the violence and sexual abuses go unreported.

In the following days we will likely hear from many more people who say there are not Muslim only no-go zones.

CNN Money reported this soon after the story broke.

"When we're insulted, and when we've had an image, then I think we'll have to sue, I think we'll have to go to court, in order to have these words removed," Hidalgo told CNN's Christiane Amanpour. "The image of Paris has been prejudiced, and the honor of Paris has been prejudiced."
