A local North Carolina television station is reporting that Carolina Panthers' star quarterback, Cam Newton, has been involved in a car crash.
Early reporting suggests that the car in which Newton was a passenger was overturned and that police were responding to an accident in which someone was injured.
While there is no official information on Newton’s condition or other details of the accident the Panthers Organization released this statement via Twitter:
"We are closely monitoring the situation of a car wreck involving Cam Newton. We will have more information at an appropriate time."
One North Carolina TV station is citing a police source who claimed that Newton suffered no serious injuries and was transported to the hospital as a precaution, despite the quarterback’s objections.
