In its three-day “Operation Bad Gifts” at JFK airport, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers protected Christmas consumers by seizing nearly a half-million dollars worth of counterfeit designer products being spirited into the country.

Members of CBPs Mobile Intellectual Property Enforcement Team seized 203 counterfeit sneakers, handbags, sunglasses, etc., with fake designer labels such as:

  • Louis Vuitton,
  • Gucci,
  • Michael Kors,
  • Chanel and
  • Coach

The manufacturer’s suggested retail price of the bags, shoes, watches, and other merchandise, if genuine, is estimated to be more than $450,000.
