Monday, March 26, 2012 - 5:13pm
President Obama's hot mic gave away private comments he shared with Russian president Dmitri Medvedev concerning NATO's missile defense system for Eastern Europe Monday. Obama asks Medvedev for some 'space' on missile defense and explains, 'This is my last election. After my election, I have more flexibility.'
White House deputy national security adviser Ben Rhodes defends Obama saying, 'Since 2012 is an election year in both countries... it is clearly not a year in which we are going to achieve a breakthrough.'
