U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley tweeted out a statement to the U.N. Friday morning following a Thursday night U.S. airstrike on a Syrian airbase ordered by President Donald Trump.

In the statement, Haley dared members of the United Nations to publicly voice support for the Assad regime, who the Trump administration has identified the Syrian dictatorship as the perpetrators of Monday’s heinous chemical attack on the town of han Sheikhoun that killed 70 men, women and children, and wounded hundreds more.

“This morning, Bolivia requested an emergency UN Security Council meeting to discuss the events in Syria. It asked for the discussion to be held in closed session,” Haley explained.

“The United States, as president of the Council this month, decided the session would be held in the open,” she continued. “Any country that chooses to defend the atrocities of the Syrian regime will have to do so in full public view, for all the world to hear.”

Haley’s statement comes just two days after she stared down the Russian ambassador before the U.N. Security Council Wednesday, demanding an answer from the pro-Assad Russian government as to how they could allow the Syrian dictator to gas his own citizens without facing repercussions.

“How many more children have to die before Russia cares?” she challenged at the time.
