I don’t mean to get all 90s on you, but I thought about the immortal words (sarcasm) of Alanis Morissette when it comes to this next story — “Isn’t it ironic? Don’t ya think?”

The Boeing whistleblower who recently was found dead reportedly told a close friend that he was not suicidal following his public complaint against the giant corporation.

John Barnett, 62, allegedly committed suicide on the same day he was supposed to testify in court per his safety complaints about Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner. Of course, Barnett never showed up, as reported by Townhall by way of ABC 4 News in South Carolina.

But, the close friend — only identified as “Jennifer” — told ABC 4 News that Barnett would never commit suicide, and there’s nothing that can convince her otherwise.

“He wasn't concerned about safety because I asked him," Jennifer said recalling a conversation with Barnett post-whistleblowing. "I said, 'Aren't you scared?' And he said, 'No, I ain't scared, but if anything happens to me, it's not suicide.”

The timing of his alleged “suicide” seems particularly convenient for Boeing, especially with all of the malfunctions that have recently occurred in the airline industry. However, Boeing did provide a statement concerning the passing of Barnett.

“We are saddened by Mr. Barnett’s passing, and our thoughts are with his family and friends,” Boeing said.

But, as mentioned previously, Jennifer doesn’t buy her that friend died the way they’re saying he did.

Jennifer said she thinks somebody "didn't like what he had to say" and wanted to "shut him up" without it coming back to anyone.

"That's why they made it look like a suicide," Jennifer said.
