I never thought I’d say this, but a European governing body has actually shown its stones to Muslim terrorists and basically said ‘F**k you!’ That governing body belongs the UEFA, the Union of European Football Associations, after they received threats from an affiliate of the terror group ISIS-K.

According to ESPN:

The Al-Azaim Foundation -- a media arm of ISIS-K -- issued multiple social media posts calling for attacks at stadiums hosting Champions League quarterfinal matches.

On Tuesday, Arsenal host Bayern Munich at the Emirates Stadium in London and Real Madrid play Manchester City at the Bernabéu stadium in Madrid, while on Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain face Barcelona in Parc des Princes in Paris and Atlético Madrid host Borussia Dortmund at Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

However, unlike in the past, UEFA has decided to heighten security, work with local authorities and go on with the matches in the prestigious Champions League, as seen with Tuesday's matches.

“UEFA is aware of alleged terrorist threats made towards this week's UEFA Champions League matches and is closely liaising with the authorities at the respective venues," UEFA said in a statement to ESPN. "All matches are planned to go ahead as scheduled with appropriate security arrangements in place.”

They are also advising spectators and diehard fans to use the old method of ‘If you see something, say something.”

“As ever, we ask the public to remain vigilant, and if they see any that doesn't look or feel right, then report it to police or security staff,” the statement also read.

While Europe has done its fair share of capitulation to radicals threatening its way of life, one thing you don’t do is interfere with soccer matches, especially of this magnitude.

Heck, if they didn’t play, soccer hooligans might cause a riot that are sometimes just as violent as a terrorist attack. Obviously, I’m joking to a degree, but a riot wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility had UEFA decided to postpone.

Good on ya, UEFA!
