New Star Wars Video Game Allows Same Sex Relationships
Monday, January 30, 2012 - 4:29pm
The Family Research Council (FRC) is condemning a new Star Wars video game that allows players to engage their characters in same-sex relationships.
"In a galaxy not so far far away, Star Wars gamers have already gone to the dark side.” said Tony Perkins, FRC president.
“Since the announcement, homosexuals have been celebrating the news, but parents sure aren't. On the game's website, there are more than 300 pages of comments - a lot of them expressing anger that their kids will be exposed to this Star Warped way of thinking.”
Bioware, the game company behind the "Star Wars: The Old Republic" PC game, has allowed playable characters to engage in same sex relationships in other games. However the appeal that Star Wars has to children caused the FRC to take notice and express their concern.
