New 'Smart Gun' Tech Makes Guns Useless Unless You Wear Special Ring

In the world of science fiction, "smart guns” have already gained traction in recent pop culture. But these days, science may be leaving the fiction behind.

Jonathan Mossberg, a developer with iGun Technology, met with tech guru Kurt “CyberGuy” Knutsson to show off their newest breakthrough in the field. This line of “smart guns” would rely on a signal from a specialized ring or watch worn by the shooter to successfully fire.

For those concerned with a controlling government hacking into and disabling your weapon, Mossberg stated that won’t be an issue because his technology doesn’t rely upon Wi-Fi. Instead, it functions on an extremely low range signal that may barely reach over an inch.
