The struggling all-female “Ghostbusters’” remake is lending its support to Hillary Clinton.

On Wednesday, the Twitter account for the new "Ghostbusters" film tweeted “#ImWithHer,” the hashtag used to signify support for Clinton. The tweet came just a day after Clinton officially won the Democratic nomination for president.

The film also congratulated itself, and presumably Clinton, for having “smashed the glass ceiling.”

Despite the clear political endorsement of a woman who talks about the importance of being a woman, Sony Pictures executive Tom Rothman has disputed the notion that the movie plays into feminist identity politics.

He told the Hollywood Reporter, "Everybody says we're making the female Ghostbusters, but I say, 'No, we're making the funny Ghostbusters.' Yes, it happens to be four women.”

“It's original. You get pissing and moaning on the Internet — sexist comments – but, you know, f— 'em,” he continued.

Similar to how Clinton supporters have accused her opponents of being sexist, fans of the new “Ghostbusters” movie, and even its director Paul Feig, often accuse the film’s critics of being sexist and misogynist.

It is unclear how a tweet from the “Ghostbusters” film will give Clinton a push, considering the movie only pulled in $46 million during its opening weekend despite the film’s $144 million budget.
