MSNBC Finally Reports on the Slaughter of Christians, Thanks To a Former Fox News Host

Shortly following her departure from Fox News, Greta Van Susteren, now the host of an hour-long show called "For the Record" on MSNBC, gave a pretty lengthy and detailed report on the persecution of Christians in the Middle East by radical Muslim terrorist groups, including the all-out assault by ISIS on Christian churches in places like Mosul.

The report marks one of the brief and notably infrequent times the left-leaning network has given more than a head-nod to the slaughter of Christians in the Middle East. And, perhaps ironically, it took a former Fox News media personality to bring up the issue for more than a glossed-over moment.

In the segment, which runs several minutes, Van Susteren openly calls out the media for not reporting on the crisis, which she describes as an “important and neglected story.” And while she didn’t expressly label the assault on Christians as a “genocide,” she did focus on what American Christians – particularly those with Rev. Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse – are doing to help.

Only time will tell whether the largely refugee-focused pundits on the network’s primetime shows will start shining a brighter light on this human tragedy, and I won’t be holding my breath. But thanks to Van Susteren, who left Fox News back in September and has only been at MSNBC for a few months, the report was a remarkably refreshing change of pace. Check out her report:
