Media Blast NRA for Tweeting Breitbart Headline, Link

The NRA is facing a new wave of hate after posting a tweet mentioning Gabby Giffords. The tweet is only sharing a headline and a link to an article by Breitbart, though the media doesn't bother to discern the difference.

All across the internet, you can find a slew of voices crying out, declaring the tweet a thinly-veiled assault upon the victim of the 2011 shooting. Just look at these headlines:

The NRA’s New Low

Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-N.Y.) calls the tweet "fear-mongering and desperate intimidation":

“’The NRA's brazen response is as predictable as it is pathetic,’ she said in a statement. ‘Any time someone steps up to offer common-sense solutions to prevent gun violence, extremists call it an attack on the Second Amendment, but any reasonable person can see that for what it is: blatant fear-mongering and desperate intimidation.’”

But, given the tone of these headlines, it seems there's plenty of “fear-mongering and desperate intimidation" to go around.
