Maxine Waters to CNN: Ongoing Migrant Caravan Crisis 'Political Ploy' by Trump

It wouldn't be a day ending in “y” if Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) didn’t make a spectacular rhetorical leap into stupidity. I honestly think Waters says some of the things she says simply for the headlines, unless she's doing it to try and top what she word vomits the day before. If she legitimately cared about her constituents, then she wouldn’t do some of the things she does to be labeled one of the most corrupt politicians in the U.S. — four times!

Waters joined radically-Left CNN’s “Newsroom” on Sunday to downplay the culpability of the migrant “caravan,” who stormed the U.S. border on Sunday. In typical Waters fashion, she blamed President Trump for every little thing that’s gone on concerning the migrants. Waters even went so far as to intimate that Trump wanted this conflict in order to stoke the fears of the American populace.

CNN’s Fredricka Whitfield asked about how “migrants have outnumbered Mexican authorities,” and Waters goes into a rant about Trump. I’m not sure the congresswoman actually knows much about the “caravan,” choosing to instead keep her focus on being combative with towards the president.

Here’s part of what Waters had to say:

Well, I am very saddened to see this situation with desperate people and all of this has being the political ploy of the president of the United States of America. He made this the central part of his platform, that he was going to do something about these migrants who were coming here. He called them killers and rapists, and he certainly did stoke a lot of fear about these migrants who are trying to get in, and so he promised the American people he was going to make Mexico pay for it all, that we would not have to pay a dime for it and now we have this chaos. That’s what he wants. He wants to stoke fear.

There has to be a certain level of wonderment towards Waters’ statements, because it doesn’t appear that she sees the same images that the rest of us have. Some of the migrants in the invasion — um, “caravan” — might be of the “desperate” variety. But, there’s no way to know that unless they follow the proper procedures to enter the country.

It’s funny that Waters would say that somebody else “wants to stoke fear” considering it was the congresswoman who called for Leftists to intimidate and harass people in the Trump administration, among pretty much everyone else that disagrees with them.

Whitfield then asked Waters if what she’s asserting adds to Trump’s “narrative.”

Waters’ response:

I believe so, because these migrants, who now are facing a closed border and who are rushing, you know, and storming the border, certainly that looks bad. And that looks as if they are at fault of all of this. And so what we need is comprehensive immigration reform led by the president of the United States in an effort to deal with this problem. But we're not seeing that from this president. He's not interested in solving the immigration problem. He's not interested in credible reform. This, what you see today, is exactly what he wants to happen so that he can continue to build up a constituency, a thread of migrants talking about migrants who are dangerous and who are going to take over this country. And so it's unfortunate. This is his kind of leadership, failed leadership, that's what it is.

While Waters is incorrect, even if Trump did want this “caravan” situation to continue in order to boost his constituency, isn’t Waters fighting for more people to illegally enter this country in order to boost her own constituency?

Just some food for thought, as Waters continues to be the poster child for why career politicians hurt more than help.
