Louis C.K. Netflix Special And Movie Get Cancelled After Allegations

In the way of sexual harassment allegations against Louis C.K., the premiere of the comedian's upcoming film project "I Love You, Daddy" will be canceled the entertainment company The Orchard, who acquired the film in a $5 million dollar deal after its original debut at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year.

The film had already received odd remarks about its sexual narratives and was said to have had scenes that paralleled C.K.'s own life, in terms of sexual misconduct. "I Love You, Daddy" was set to get a three-city release on November 17th with a larger release to follow, but those plans are scrapped.

The New York Times recently broke a story that alleging that Louis C.K. was guilty of sexual misconduct with up to five women, which the comedian has since admitted to. As the story gained traction online, Netflix and another film distributor canceled their prospective projects with him.

Netflix, which had made a deal to produce two comedy specials with C.K., one of which premiered earlier this year, said it would not be moving forward with the second release. In a statement from the streaming service, Netflix said:

“The allegations made by several women in The New York Times about Louis C.K.’s behavior are disturbing. Louis’s unprofessional and inappropriate behavior with female colleagues has led us to decide not to produce a second stand-up special, as had been planned.”

As of now, Netflix is still showing earlier specials and performances from Louis C.K.

Other productions and entertainment companies have also cut ties with the comedian. HBO announced that it would be dropping him from their lineup of "Night of Too Many Stars" as well as omitting other specials and work from its on-demand service.

FX, which is the home of a series of the same name as well as other projects of which he is a part of, claimed they were "very troubled" by the Times report and that "the matter is currently under review." most likely referring to his future with the channel.
