This former Navy SEAL has great faith that America’s armed forces can defeat ISIS.

As ISIS forces continue to terrorize the Middle East, after beheading 21 Coptic Christians in a video released this past Sunday, one famous Navy Seal has faith that ISIS can be stopped--by the U.S. Marine Corps.

Marcus Luttrell, the former Navy Seal behind the book and movie “Lone Survivor,” appeared on Fox and Friends Feb. 16 to discuss how he thought ISIS could be stopped. After host Elisabeth Hasselbeck reported that ISIS forces were closing in on a U.S. military base in Iraq, where hundreds of Marines were stationed, she asked Luttrell what could be done. He responded:

“[There] needs to be a fight...I overheard you saying that there is a couple hundred Marines in there? Best thing you can do right there is jerk the chains off those guys and let them go to work. With 300 Marines, you could probably take over Iraq if you wanted to--get rid of ISIS completely.”

Luttrell went on to say that, just because the Marines weren’t originally stationed there to stop ISIS, is no reason to not employ them to do so:

“I know we're there for other reasons, but apparently the enemy doesn't. So you can't just let them -- they'll hold off as long as possible, but eventually you're going have to snap that chain off of them and let them go to work.”

“Make no mistake about it. Marines are really good at what they do. The only time they’re not good at what they do is when somebody else puts shackles on them.”

This isn’t the first time Luttrell has stated that liberal politics hindered the military’s abilities in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. In his book “Lone Survivor” he recounted many incidents where the media’s spin on the war gave way to political correctness in the armed forces, which hindered the former soldier’s ability do his job.
